Postdoctoral Positions in Integrative Neuroscience 2011 at NUIG


Scholarship for Nursing The successful candidate will work on a work program that will employ, integrated, multidisciplinary, whole-system approach to explain the interaction of neural neurobiology of anxiety-pain, with special emphasis on the role of the endogenous cannabinoid system. Neurobiological mechanisms underlying fear-induced analgesia and hyperalgesia related concerns will be investigated.

Position Details:

This Scholarship for Nursing post is funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) Principal Investigator Program grant of ~ € 1 million to Dr. David P. Finn, Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Faculty of Medicine, NUI Galway (for more information and the latest publications see http:// www.nuigalway.ie / pharmacology / Dr_David_Finn.html). The work will involve collaboration with Physiology, Faculty of Medicine and the National Center for Biomedical Engineering Science at NUI Galway, University of Nottingham and University College London. Successful candidates will join a vibrant group of researchers at NUI Galway's Neuroscience Cluster (http://ncbes.nuigalway.ie/neuroscience.aspx) and the Center for Pain Research (http://www.nuigalway.ie/centre_pain_research/).

Essential Qualifications:

Desired Qualifications: The Scholarship for Nursing ideal candidate will have significant experience in one or more of the following: Behavioral neuroscience / neuropharmacology, pre-clinical pain, stress and / or models of anxiety research; stereotaxic surgery, intracerebral and intrathecal injection; immunohistochemical, neurochemical; in. vivo microdialysis coupled to HPLC, mass spectrometry for quantitation of small molecules, Western immunoblotting, RT-qPCR. Peer-reviewed publications in areas relevant to the project are also desirable.

Fulbright Malaysian Professional Exchange Program Scholarship for Nursing


Scholarship for Nursing Grant is intended for practitioners rather than academics, administrators, managers of the organization / association / services, journalists, and lawyers are encouraged to apply for these grants.
Requirements: 1. A Malaysian citizen;
2. A master's degree or equivalent professional qualification in the field of the proposed program. For professionals and artists outside academia, recognized professional standing and substantial professional accomplishment is expected;
